Fun and excitement at the closing party of the summer reading club at the dettelbach public library. For in the KUK, according to a press release, not only a lot of prizes and surprises were waiting for over 40 children, but also the lower franconian juggler dan willis. The conjured up again and again new figures from the hat, which he then put on immediately. Whether as a mongolian juggling various daggers, a cat with a wiggling ear, or a samurai fighting with swords, dan willis thrilled children and parents alike.
After that it got exciting, because the prizes were drawn, including book vouchers with a total value of 100 euros from the bookstore schoningh in kitzingen. In addition, there were vouchers for cineworld, the bowling center in the mainfrankenpark or the ice cream parlor galeria, and also prizes sponsored by the sparkasse and VR bank. The main prize was a book voucher for 15 euros with a cinema voucher. In the end, every child went home with a prize. Additional awards were given to the frequent readers. This year’s record was set by gracia remler, who devoured no less than 95 books, followed by philippa schuster (53 books) and sina schroth (32 books). In fourth place came the first young paul schneider with 18 books read.
The summer reading club is a bavaria-wide campaign in which all public libraries can participate. The dettelbach town library took part for the ninth time this year and was delighted to see the strong interest shown by children from six to twelve years of age. In total, the city library paid 68 club members who could choose from 163 new children’s books. For each book read a rating was to be given, which entitled to participate in the raffle. Prizes were only awarded to the children who came to the closing ceremony.
