Financial injection for a new building

Financial injection for a new building

The master school will not be a caritas facility, but the dormitory will now be demolished and replaced by a new building. This is the most important information that came out of the schreiner facility on friday, when the members of the bodies that finance the school as a special-purpose association met there. Money played a major role in the process. At the beginning of his term as chairman, district council president erwin dotzel cancelled the previous year's decision to carry out a general renovation of the school building and the adjacent dormitory.
The reason for this abrupt turnaround is that a new grant has been received for the dormitory, according to which 90 percent of the costs will be covered by the state of bavaria.
"However, this will require a new building and not just modernization and renovation, as had previously been envisaged and decided upon. Now we have to think hard about whether to rush into a new building", said dotzel, but almost gave himself the answer. Which the district builder ottmar zipperich put it like this: "we just have to prove that the general renovation is 80 percent of a new building, which from my point of view is not a problem, and with that we got a replacement new building of the same rough only with a different, much better cut. And for that, there was 90 percent", the official almost started to revel. Previously, the investment volume had been 2.4 million euros.

Financing model devised

But that's not all: there is also more money for the renovations that are planned for the school building itself, with a clever financing model using the (financially weak) district of habberge's highest rate of FAG funds should be knocked out. The postponement of the acceptance tests by one year was therefore considered acceptable by all members of the association. Only the heating system will be renovated this year, as one of the boilers has stopped working.

Stamm and eck helped

How the unexpected rain of subsidies came about, district president dotzel explained with a dash of sufficiency. Actually, he and managing director klingert had gone to munich for talks about the personnel cost subsidy.
Dotzel had complained to state parliament president barbara stamm (CSU) that the master school was only reimbursed 60 percent of personnel costs, while regular schools were reimbursed 100 percent. Klingert: "we already had an inkling that this was going to be difficult."
For this reason, barbara stamm, as chairwoman of caritas, came up with the idea of continuing the schreiner school as a caritas school in order to obtain higher personnel cost subsidies in this way.
"After intensive evaluation, however, it was decided that it would be better to continue the master school in this form, because the other form had more disadvantages than advantages, according to managing director klingert, the result was as follows. "Moreover, our school doesn't fit into the caritas portfolio at all", erwin dotzel drew a line under this debate, from which nevertheless positive realizations arose. Because state secretary gerhard eck (CSU) had also taken part in the talks in munich, he brought up the idea of subsidizing parts of the general renovation through the state's new demand program, the municipal investment fund, which would increase the rate from 40 to 90 percent.
This opportunity is now to be seized, which is why the delay of the mabnahme by one year is considered a small ubel. "At the school, we think and act for the long term anyway", chairman dotzel praised the school management and staff.
Dotzel commented on the report by principal oliver dunisch, saying that this is one reason why the championship school is not only perceived in the district and in lower franconia, but in the whole of germany.

Autumn course fully booked again

The main reason for this was the organization of the national carpentry competition in november and the continuing strong demand for apprenticeship places. The majority of graduates come from franconia and thuringia, but some of the students also come from baden-wurttemberg, berlin, brandenburg, hesse, north rhine-westphalia, saxony and saxony-anhalt. And the circle was allowed to get even rougher: "there are the first concrete inquiries from interested parties with a migration background, who are aiming for master's degrees after their training and are thus providing positive impetus in terms of the shortage of young talent", dunisch read from the applications. The next course in september is fully booked again, nine registrations have been received so far for 2017.
