Berghaus rhon: a powerful sip and shards

Finally the new mountain house rhon is built. District administrator thomas bold opens the topping-out ceremony on friday. Builders, the mayors of the three neighboring municipalities, individual district councillors and project managers from the district administration of bad kissingen have arrived. There are about 50 people. Zaungaste are also involved.

The new mountain house was built using wood construction methods. The construction has "preserved the berghaus character, says the county council. The new building is important for the tourist infrastructure, the district wants to make its contribution here. Bold thanks everyone involved in the project. Architect alfred wiener from karlstadt, who is responsible for the planning together with his daughter silja wiener, does likewise.

Second terrace is still being built

"It is something future-oriented, what they afford there", wiener emphasizes. The mountain huts in the alps are certainly pioneers. "That is why we have also chosen a contemporary architecture.", the architect declared in the speech after the verdict was announced. The stop jens reugels from the exporting carpentry from the habbergen.

"No expense or effort has been spared to ensure that a new mountain lodge will please locals and tourists alike. Already now you can see the satisfaction in the faces. And all hope that the work will go ahead quickly", reugels shouts from the roof of the building. A strong sip of wine follows, then reugels and employee daniel huttinger throw down their glasses. It should bring happiness to the building and to all who enter and leave it.

Afterwards, the guests get an idea of the mountain house. The guest room can be divided. 120 people should find place here. In addition to the familiar terrace facing the playground, another one will be built on the rear side of the building. The next step is the interior work: the electrical system, pellet heating, ventilation and sanitary facilities will be installed. The elevator is installed, floor laid.

Suitable for wheelchair users

The upstairs smells of wood. The individual rooms – each with its own bathroom with shower – are already partitioned off. Windows are still missing. When everything is finished, the berghaus will be accessible without barriers. Two of the ten rooms will be handicapped-accessible. There is more space in the rooms, the bathroom is coarser, the corridor a little wider, so that wheelchair users can also reach the rooms comfortably from the elevator.

According to the district office, the construction is on schedule. The opening is planned for autumn. The cost has climbed from 2.58 million euros to around three million euros. In a rough tent next to the construction site, hikers can get food and drink even during the construction phase. Mobile toilets have been set up there. The berghaus is a traditional inn in the rhon. Nearby is the basalt lake – popularly known as the "inkwell" called – and the youth campsite at farnsberg.
