This class is designed for the student musician who wants to achieve a higher level of personal performance on his or her primary instrument. Applied Music is designed to give students time to practice Orchestra music, Choir music, Band music, All-Region, All-State, and Solo and Ensemble music. Upon completion of this course, students will gain a thorough understanding of what it means to perform with a heightened sense of musicianship on one’s instrument. Students will spend class time practicing their instruments, researching the history of their instruments and familiarizing themselves with notable performers on their instruments. Technology will be incorporated in the class. Students will become familiar with computer software that will help them grow as a musicians. Students will also be given the opportunity to participate in a master class and a final end-of-year performance.
Guitar and piano students may enroll but must first contact the instructor for approval.
